The past four meetings between the two sides produced draws but Police will be glad to have beaten Ulinzi first since gaining promotion to the top flight.

Kenya Police bagged maximum points and bragging rights after smashing Ulinzi Stars 2-0 in a league match played at the Police Pavilion Grounds in South C on Friday.

The match had attracted hype and social media banter for the better part of the week with the clash pitting Gor Mahia against Murang'a Seal set for Saturday also being talked about.

After a goalless draw in the first half, experienced midfielder Francis Kahata broke the deadlock in the easiest way possible, tapping in from close range after poor clearance by the Ulinzi defence.

Abud Omar sealed it for the law enforcers, whipping in a beauty of a freekick from the edge of the box to see his side bag the their win or the season.

The results helps melt pressure off coach Zdravko Logarusic's shoulders as the Croat had not won in the last four matches.

At the Ruaraka Grounds, FC Talanta extended their fine run after edging Muhoroni Youth 2-0 to move to the top four bracket.

Goals from Ian Omondi and Afred Tanui were enough to gurantee the Ken Kenyatta coached team the fourth win of the season.

Meanwhile, Kakamega Homeboyz humiliated Sofapaka 5-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium to register their fifth win of the season.

Centre back Brian Eshihanda was the hero of the game as he found the back of the net twice to inspire his side to their second win in front of home fans.

Ambrose Sifuna, Stephen Opoku and Christopher Masinza added the extras as Homeboyz dominated and schooled the visitors.

Prior to the game, Sofapaka had lost 3-0 to FC Talanta while Homeboyz had beaten Muhoroni 2-0.
